Dear Friend,
The mission of the Hampton Democrats is to raise the level of awareness and dialogue within our community about critical local, state and national issues. We seek to educate and advise Hampton citizens, to encourage participation in community service activities, and to support candidates to elected office who embody the principles of the Democratic Party. To see our values and guiding principles, click on the link to Value/Guidling Principles on the sidebar to the left of this message. If you share those values and want to help us move our town, state and country forward, we are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping us do the following:
Hold our elected officials accountable: We can and MUST do everything we can to make sure that our elected officials know how we feel so that they will have the courage to do what is right. Keep tabs on the Voting Record of our representatives and state senator by going to: http://www.hamptondems.org/elected-officials/Voting-Record-of-Your-Elected-Officials Please let them know how YOU feel -- instructions how to contact each of them can be found on our web site at http://www.hamptondems.org/elected-officials/contact-your-elected-officials . And do not hesitate to send a letter to the editor -- go to http://www.hamptondems.org/home/letters-to-the-editor for links to all of our local papers.
Candidates for State Representative, State Senator and Rockingham County elected positions If you are concerned about the direction that our state legislature has taken and want to return to common sense governing that respects the rights of all people and is focused on what we need to do to secure our future, rather than returning to a past that never really existed, the only way that will happen if people like you are elected to represent us. The filing period for these positions this year is June 6 - 15, but now is the time to start learning more.
